Cover Stories No. 1

Welcome to the first edition of Cover Stories! Each week I am going to challenge you to get your stories scrapped with inspiration from the covers of books, CDs, DVDs, magazines, whatever! The great thing about the covers of various media is that they tend to be simple and focused, capturing an idea or moment or feeling. And isn't that what we as storytellers want to do? We want to capture the bits and pieces that define our lives for future generations.

Our first inspiration piece was chosen in honor of my fellow Orange County homegirl deann. It's the cover of a CD of music from the television series The O.C.:



The single photo and strong title spoke to me. Now, of course, I'm gonna give you a little head start with the challenge.
